DIY Classic Christmas Poinsettia Wreath

There’s nothing more timeless than the rich reds and greens of Christmas, and this week our floral designer, Susan, has created a stunning piece that celebrates just that — the Classic Christmas Poinsettia Wreath. This beautiful design features vibrant red poinsettias, shimmering gold accents, and lush greenery, all tied together with an elegant holiday bow. It’s the perfect way to welcome guests with the warmth and charm of the season. Follow along as Susan shares how she brought this traditional Christmas favorite to life, step-by-step, in this week’s DIY blog post.

Supplies needed:

  • Here's a look at all of the items that we used in this Wreath. The colors or theme of this Wreath can be changed or adjusted to fit any Christmas theme that you may have in your home.
  • Susan started this Wreath by first fluffing out the branches. Then Susan added the 5 Mixed Pine Cone Evergreen Sprays to the Wreath. She decided to add these to help fill out the Wreath some and give it some more texture. She trimmed a bit of the length off of each of the Stems and then used Hot Glue to secure each piece to the Wreath.
  • Once the additional Mixed Pine Sprays had been added, Susan moved on to tying the Bow for the top of the Wreath. She tied a stacked bow of each of the ribbons, starting with the 7/8", then the 1.5" and ending with the 2.5". She tied 4 loops of each ribbon, left the tails a little longer and then secured the Bow with a Chenille Stem.

  • Once the Bow was added Susan then started adding the florals. She started with the Red & Green Glitter Leaves Stems. She cut them into individual sections and then added to them to the Wreath coming down from either side of the Bow.

  • Next Susan added the Red & Green Poinsettias to the Wreath. She trimmed the majority of the Stem off of each one and then used Hot Glue to secure them. She placed two back to back directly beneath the Bow and then the third was placed on the left hand side of the Wreath.

  • Once the Poinsettias had been added Susan then added the final gold touches to finish off this Wreath. She cut the Gold Honey Locust Sprays into multiple sections and then used Hot Glue to secure them throughout the Wreath.

  • When all of the components have been added you will have a stunning Holiday Wreath to welcome family and friends!
