DIY Everyday Magnolia Grapevine Wreath

Welcome to this week’s blog post, where we’re spotlighting a truly special piece, the Everyday Magnolia Grapevine Wreath, handcrafted with heart by our talented floral designer, Susan. Blending timeless Southern charm with natural elegance, this wreath is a celebration of simple beauty—perfect for year-round decor. With its lush magnolia leaves, rustic grapevine base, this piece brings a welcoming warmth to any door or wall. Let’s take a closer look at what makes this design so special and how you can create one of your very own for your home.

Supplies needed:

  • Before getting started, make sure you have gathered all of the necessary supplies.

  • Susan started this design by first adding the Metal Magnolia Welcome Sign to the Wreath. She used two Chenille Stems to attach the sign to the Wreath and the predrilled holes that are already on the sign. She placed the sign in the bottom right hand corner of the Wreath.
  • Once the sign had been added to the Wreath she moved onto tying the Bow for the top of the Wreath. She used the 1.5" Natural Ribbon as the first section of the bow; tying a 3 loop bow and then adding in the additional 2.5" ribbons to continue the Bow. She added two loops of each of the 2.5" ribbons and then layered in the tails of the Bow. She secured the bow with a Chenille Stem; you can also use Floral Wire if you have it on hand. She placed the bow across the Wreath from the Metal Sign; placing the bow on the top left hand corner of the Wreath. Susan also cut the length of the ribbon tails so that they wouldn't hang down over the sign.

  • After the bow had been added, Susan began adding the florals. She first focused on the top portion of the Wreath in and around the Bow. She cut apart one of the Magnolia Leaves Picks, one of the Magnolia Sprays and one of the Salal Leaf Sprays. She used Hot Glue on the end of each piece to secure them to the Wreath.

  • Susan then added a few more pieces of Magnolia Leaves to both sides of the top to bring the floral down towards the sign more. She also added the Single Magnolia Stem to the right hand side of the Wreath. She cut off the majority of the length and then manipulated the flower a bit to open it up. She used Hot Glue on every piece to secure it to the Wreath.

  • Once those pieces had been added to the top Susan began adding the rest of the florals to the bottom section of the Wreath under the Sign. She cut each piece apart into an individual piece before adding it to the Wreath. She added a Magnolia flower to each side of the Sign and the filled in the the remaining pieces.

  • When all of the components have been added you will have gorgeous Wreath that can be used in or outside your home year round.
