DIY Fall Mums Grapevine Wreath

Golden mums, rich burgundy Peonies, and an autumn tapestry of moss green, earthy browns, and warm orange accents come together beautifully in this week’s DIY Blog feature — the Fall Mums Grapevine Wreath. Designed by our talented floral designer, Susan, this charming wreath captures the cozy, rustic spirit of fall with layers of textured greenery and ribbons that seem to glow in the soft autumn light. Whether you’re looking to welcome guests with seasonal flair or simply add a touch of harvest warmth to your home, this wreath is a perfect blend of elegance and Fall nostalgia.

Supplies needed:

  • Before getting started, make sure you have gathered all of your supplies.
  • Susan began this Wreath by first tying the large bow for the top of the Wreath. She layered all 4 ribbons into one bow; using about half of the ribbon off of each roll for this first bow. She tied two loops of each ribbon and then layered the next ribbon into the bow; then repeating that process.

  • Once the Bow was secured with a Chenille Stem Susan tied it to the top of the Wreath using the same Chenille Stem. She left the tails long on this Bow and let them drape down the front of the Wreath. She did trim them some so that they were at different lengths for each Ribbon.

  • Next she used pieces of the Fall Grass Bush and the Norfolk Pine Spray to create a base in and around the Bow at the top of the Wreath. She secured each piece with Hot Glue before placing it into the Wreath.

  • Next she added pieces of the Fall Berries Spray in and around the Bow.

  • Now that the top is mostly complete, Susan moved onto tying a second Bow out of the remaining ribbon. She used the same process as the top bow, layering the ribbons and tying two loops per ribbon.

  • Once the bottom Bow had been secured with a Chenille Stem to the Wreath, Susan also added the Grass and Greenery around that Bow creating a base layer for the rest of the florals.

  • Now that the Greenery had been added to the bottom of the Wreath, Susan moved on to adding the florals. She cut the Mustard Mum Bush apart into individual sections and added them throughout the bottom of the Wreath. She also cut apart the Peonies Stems and did the same with them.

  • Susan then added some of the Fall Berries into the bottom of the Wreath and added pieces of the Gold Willow Spray throughout the Wreath.

  • Once all of the components had been added Susan came to a stopping point. This Wreath is now perfect to welcome Friends and Family throughout the Fall season.
