Boo & Bows Halloween Mesh Wreath
Get ready to welcome Halloween with a wreath that’s equal parts spooky, sweet, and oh-so-fun! This week, Susan created the adorable Boo & Bows Halloween Mesh Wreath, combining playful ghost accents, whimsical Halloween ribbon, and layers of purple, pink, and black mesh for a festive look that’s sure to make a statement on your front door. Whether you love the cute side of Halloween or simply enjoy creating one-of-a-kind seasonal décor, this wreath is a fun project to add to your collection. Best of all, all of the supplies Susan used to create this design can be found on our website or at one of our Ellis Home & Garden locations, so you can gather your supplies and create your own Boo & Bows masterpiece!
Supplies needed:
- (1) 15" Wreath Base Deco Mesh Work Form
- (2) 10" Black Metallic Deco Mesh
- (1) 10" Pink Metallic Deco Mesh
- (1) 10" Purple Metallic Deco Mesh
- (1) 9" Pink Boo Ghost
- (2) 26" Pink Cute Bow Ghosts Spray
- (3) 19" Purple Ghost Pick
- (1) 7/8" Black Flat Glitter Ribbon
- (1) 7/8" Purple Flat Glitter Ribbon
- (2) 2.5" Pink & White Ghosts Ribbon
- (2) 2.5" Purple Flat Glitter Ribbon
- Hot Glue
- Wire Cutters
- Scissors
- Floral Wire/Chenille Stems
- Here is a look at everything that was used in this Mesh Wreath.
- Susan started this Mesh Wreath by first adding one roll of the Black Deco Mesh to the Wreath From. She started on the outside ring of the Wreath Form and used the twist ties on the Wreath Form to secure the Mesh. She created loops as she worked from one set of twist ties to the next. Once the outer ring was complete she moved over to the inner ring repeating the process until the entire Wreath Form was covered.
- Once the first layer of Mesh had been added Susan began cutting our other Mesh colors into roughly 12" strips to add ruffles to the Wreath. She cut 10 each of each color and then folded them into ruffles by pinching them in the middle. Once she had three ruffles she used the twist ties on the Wreath Form to add the ruffles to the Wreath.
- After the ruffles had been added, Susan worked on tying the large Bow for the Wreath. She tied two loops of each ribbon before layering on the next ribbon. She also worked in individual strips of ribbon to add additional tails to the Bow. She secured the Bow with a Chenille Stem and then used that same Chenille Stem to attach the Bow to the Wreath.
- After the Bow had been added Susan then added the Pink Boo Ghost to the center of the Wreath. This Ghost is primarily made of felt and Styrofoam so Susan used a leftover floral stem as a pick to attach the Ghost to the Wreath. She stuck the floral stem into the bottom of the Ghost and then added Hot Glue to help secure it. She then used that floral stem to glue the Ghost into the Wreath.
- Next Susan cut roughly 6"-8" pieces of ribbon off of the Pink & White Ghosts Ribbon and the 2.5" Flat Glitter Purple Ribbon to add additional ribbon tails to the Wreath. She added these to the outer ring of the Wreath, pinching the ribbon in the middle and then using the existing twist ties to secure the tails to the Wreath.
- Susan then added the final pieces to the Wreath by adding the Ghost Floral Picks around the outside edge. She used Hot Glue on the end of each stem to secure them. She spread out to colors to space them out evenly throughout the Wreath.
