DIY Fall Watering Can

DIY Fall Watering Can
This week on our DIY Blog, we’re thrilled to showcase a charming creation by our talented floral designer Susan: the Fall Watering Can. Overflowing with rich autumn hues and rustic textures, this delightful piece captures the cozy spirit of the season. Susan artfully combined vibrant mums, playful pops of berries, and lush greenery, all nestled into a brown metal watering can for a warm, welcoming look. Whether you’re hoping to brighten up your porch, create a stunning centerpiece, or simply celebrate the beauty of fall, this arrangement offers endless inspiration. Let’s take a closer look at how Susan brought this festive fall design to life!
Supplies needed:
- (1) 17" Oval Brown Watering Can
- (1) Styrofoam Block
- (1) Vibrant Mixed Fall Marigold Floral Bush
- (2) 28" Yellow Poppy Spray Floral Stem
- (1) 36" Gold Silk Forsythia Floral Spray
- (1) 15" Maidenhair Fern Bush
- Hot Glue
- Wire Cutters
- Before getting started, make sure you have gathered all of the supplies

- Susan started this arrangement by first placing the Styrofoam Block down inside the Watering Can. She cut the Styrofoam into two sections and then glued one to the bottom the can. The second piece was glued on top of the first to fill the space.
- Once the Styrofoam was placed inside the Watering Can Susan moved on to adding the florals. She started with the Forsythia stem. She trimmed most of the length off of the stem and then cut the stem into two separate sections. She placed one on either side of the Watering Can using Hot Glue to secure each piece.
- She then added both of the Yellow Poppy Stems to the Watering Can. She cut the majority of the stem off of both and then placed them on either side of the Watering Can. She also trimmed off the Poppy Bud on each stem and placed them separately in the Can.
- Next Susan added individual sections of the Maidenhair Fern Greenery to the bottom of the Watering Can. She used Hot Glue to secure each piece. She filled in around the opening of the Watering Can to help hide the Styrofoam.
- After the Greenery had been added, Susan separated the Marigold Bush into individual pieces. She then distributed them throughout the Watering Can using Hot Glue to secure each piece.
- When you are finished you will have a stunning Late Summer/Fall Arrangement to use anywhere in your home.
