DIY Fall Mums Memorial Cone
This week on our DIY Blog, we’re honoring the beauty of fall and the memories of loved ones with a heartfelt creation by our floral designer, Susan. Her stunning Fall Mums Memorial Cone is a tribute to the vibrant colors of the season, thoughtfully arranged to bring warmth and comfort. Supplies needed:
- (1) 8" Floral Styrofoam Cemetery Vase Insert
- (3) Bold Fall Mums & Wheat Floral Bush
- (2) Fall Sunflowers & Mums Floral Bush
- (2) Silk Leather Leaf Bush
- Hot Glue
- Wire Cutters
- Before getting started make sure you have gathered all of your supplies
- Susan began this Memorial Cone by first putting one full Bush of the Bold Fall Mums into the center of the Styrofoam Cone. She trimmed a little of the length off of the main stem and she added Hot Glue to the stem before pushing it into the Cone. She also spread the stems out once the Bush was in the Styrofoam.
- She cut the other remaining Bushes into individual stems and worked her way around the Styrofoam placing individual pieces. She followed the shape of the original bush to help keep the top round and then tapered down the sides. She added Hot Glue to the end of each stem.
- Once all of the florals had been added Susan went back through adding the accent feathers, berries and cattails.
- Lastly, Susan added a skirt of Leather Leaf Fern to the bottom of the Cone to finish it off. You can also add pieces of the Leather Leaf in the main part of the Cone if you wish.
- When finished you will have a gorgeous Fall Cone to honor your loved ones. These techniques can be used to create a Memorial Cone for every Season; simply change out the florals.
