DIY Spring Bee Teardrop

This week our floral designer Tim created a gorgeous Teardrop to help welcome April and Spring! He used a variety of ribbon, florals and greenery when creating this fun piece for our favorite pollinator. You can create one of your very own using the steps and supplies listed below

Supplies needed:

  • To get started, gather all of your necessary supplies. Remember, that you can change or adjust any of the supplies needed.

  • Tim started off this design by layering the Plastic Fern Leaves Bush over the body of the teardrop. He cut the majority of the stem off of the main bush and then worked them into the branches of the teardrop. He also added hot glue to the main stem to help secure it. He then added individual pieces on the perimeter of the teardrop.

  • Tim next tied a three loop bow using both ribbons. He attached the bow to the front of the teardrop using floral wire. Tim left the tails long and looped them down the front of the teardrop.

  • Tim added two more sets of loops down the front of the teardrop. He alternated the patterns and cut the tails into a dove tail to finish them off.

  • Next Tim separated the Sunflower Spray into separate sections. He hot glued them throughout the teardrop.

  • Tim then added the Rice Bush throughout the Teardrop. He cut the bush into individual pieces and hot glued them throughout the teardrop.

  • Tim added the Bee accents next. He cut both stems into separate sections and placed them throughout the teardrop. He placed the bee hive near the top on the left hand side.

  • To finish off this piece Tim added the Echinacea Spray. He split the stem into separate sections and hot glued them throughout the teardrop.

  • When you have finished adding all of the components you can come to a stopping point. You will have a gorgeous teardrop to use throughout the spring season.
