DIY Spring Garden Memorial Saddle

The Spring Garden Memorial Saddle is a heartfelt tribute designed to celebrate life, love, and cherished memories. Created by our talented floral designer Susan, this piece captures the gentle beauty of a blooming spring garden with its soft blush roses, delicate accent florals, and lush greenery. Each element is thoughtfully arranged to bring comfort and peace, offering a graceful way to honor someone special. With its timeless elegance and soothing color palette, this memorial saddle serves as a beautiful reminder that love continues to grow, even in remembrance.

Supplies needed:

  • Here's a look at everything that was used in this Saddle
  • Susan started this Saddle by first cutting apart all of the Stems in the Bushes. She separated the Stems to make them easier to work with while she was building the Saddle.
  • Next Susan added the first layer of Leather Leaf Fern to the Styrofoam. She worked her way around the Styrofoam adding pieces to the outside perimeter and then a few to the top of the Styrofoam.

  • Once the layer of Leather Leaf had been added Susan moved on to adding the first layer of Florals. She worked with the Pink Open Roses first and added them throughout the Saddle. She worked in sections turning the Saddle as she went to keep things even. She added a bit of Hot Glue to the end of each stem before placing it in the Styrofoam.

  • Once all of the Open Roses had been added Susan moved on to adding the Rose Buds. She used the same process as before; turning the Saddle as she worked and adding Hot Glue to the end of each stem.

  • Once all of the larger Florals had been added Susan moved on to adding the accents. She added the Purple Flowers and the Baby's Breath throughout the Saddle.

  • To finish off this Saddle Susan added a final layer of Leather Leaf around the bottom and a few pieces in the middle of the Saddle to help break up some of the florals.

  • The Spring Garden Memorial Saddle is more than just a floral arrangement—it’s a meaningful expression of love that lives on. Susan’s thoughtful design brings together softness, beauty, and grace in a way that gently honors a life well lived. Whether placed as a final tribute or a lasting symbol of remembrance, this piece offers comfort to those who gather and reflects the enduring connection we hold with those we’ve lost. In every bloom, it quietly reminds us that even in goodbye, there is still beauty, still love, and still a garden of memories that will never fade.
