Flower Friday ~ Hibiscus

🌺Flower Friday🌺
Hibiscus is a vibrant flowering plant known for its large, colorful blooms that come in shades of red, pink, yellow, orange, and white. There are two main types:
• Tropical hibiscus – Requires warm temperatures and cannot survive frost.
• Hardy hibiscus – Can tolerate colder climates and comes back each year in zones 4–9.
🌺 Basic Care Guide:
• Sunlight: Needs full sun (6–8 hours daily) for best flowering.
• Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy. Tropical types need more frequent watering.
• Soil: Prefers well-draining, slightly acidic soil.
• Temperature: Tropical hibiscus thrives in 60–90°F; bring indoors if temps drop below 50°F.
• Fertilizer: Feed every 2–4 weeks in spring and summer with a balanced or high-potassium fertilizer.
• Pruning: Trim in early spring to encourage growth and shape the plant.
