DIY Gingerbread Christmas Mesh Wreath

Get ready to sweeten up your holiday décor with this week’s delightful DIY creation! Our floral designer Susan has crafted a charming Gingerbread Christmas Mesh Wreath that’s bursting with festive cheer. Featuring whimsical gingerbread accents, candy-inspired florals, and layers of bright red, white, beige mesh and peppermint-striped ribbon, this wreath captures the joyful spirit of a classic Christmas bakery. Whether you hang it on your front door or over the mantel, this cheerful design will bring warmth, nostalgia, and a touch of holiday magic to your home all season long.

Supplies needed:

  • Here is a look at everything that was used in this Wreath
  • Susan got started with this Wreath by first adding the base layer of Deco Mesh. She used the basic gold 10" Mesh for this layer. She started on the outside ring of the Work Form creating loops as she tied the Deco Mesh between the branches of the Work Form. Once the outside ring was complete she moved over to the inner ring completing the same process.

  • After the base layer of Mesh had been added Susan made tubing clusters out of the Red, White and Basic Gold Mesh. She cut 10"-12"strps of each color and then rolled them into clusters of three. She used the existing branches on the Work Form to attach each of the clusters to the Wreath.

  • Next Susan made the large Bow for the top of the Wreath. She started with the smallest Ribbon first and then layered the other two ribbons behind it. She tied two loops on each side of the Bow per ribbon. She secured the bow with a Chenille Stem and used the branches on the Work Form to secure the Bow. She left the tails longer on this Bow to drape them across to the other side of the Wreath.

  • Then Susan tied a smaller Bow to go on the right side of the Wreath where the longer tails had been draped over from the large Bow. She also secured this Bow with a Chenille Stem and secured it to the Wreath using the branches on the Work Form.

  • Next Susan added both the Gingerbread Girl and Gingerbread Boy to the Wreath. She poked a piece of Floral Wire through the back of each plush doll and then secured that to the Work Form.

  • Then Susan added the 5 Candy Cane Picks to the Wreath. She cut the majority of the length off of each one of them and then secured them using Hot Glue and the branches on the Work Form. She placed 3 on the bottom half of the Wreath and then 2 on the top half.

  • To fill in a hole, Susan tied one last small Bow out of the remaining ribbon for the top right side of the Wreath.

  • This Wreath is now ready to brighten anyone's front door or any area inside their home.
